CAIRO, 20th January, 2016 (WAM) — Chancellor Dr. Gamal Nada, Head of the Egyptian State Council, has met with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan, and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, Saber Chowdhury.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the State Council, Dr. Nada stressed the importance of the visit of the Speaker of the Arab Parliament and the IPU President, especially within the framework of the developments experienced by the Arab region.

Al Jarwan highlighted the Arab Parliament’s support for Egypt’s efforts to restore its parliamentarian stature, regionally and internationally, to meet the current challenges and to set up mechanisms to boost cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The IPU President expressed his happiness over the formation of the new Egyptian House of Representatives, which, he said, is characterised by a great deal of diversity and is an example of a new experience and a role model for other countries to follow.
