KUTA, Bali, 5th November, 2015 (WAM) — Ngurah Rai International Airport authorities have extended its closure period until Friday morning, November 6th, as volcanic ash plumes from the erupting Mount Barujari are still affecting airport operations, the Indonesian News Agency, ANTARA, has reported.

“The airport will remain closed until around 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Central Indonesian Standard Time,” General Manager of the Angkasa Pura I of the Ngurah Rai International Airport ,Trikora Harjo, said today.

Mount Barujari is a cone inside Mount Rinjani’s large volcanic caldera located in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Three airports, the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Selaparang in Lombok and Banyuwangi, have been closed due to the eruption, and on Wednesday some 692 international and domestic flights were cancelled following the Ngurah Rai International Airports closure.
