CAIRO, 4th January, 2016 (WAM) — The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, ISESCO, has condemned the brutal attacks on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Saudi Consulate in the north-eastern city of Mashhad.

In a statement issued from its office in Cairo, ISESCO described the criminal acts as a serious violation of international conventions and norms, calling for Iranian authorities to respect international conventions and ISESCO’s charter ensuring the security and protection of diplomatic missions and their members.

It also called for Iranian authorities to avoid either sectarian rhetoric or intervention in the internal affairs of member states, and to show respect for their sovereignty.
