DUBAI,-- The Italian city of Turin has become a strategic partner of the Dubai Green Economy Partnership following the signing of an agreement to establish a collaboration that will provide mutual support to both parties to build a bridge between the two cities.
Signed by Secretary-General of Dubai GEP Fahad Al Gergawi and the Mayor of Turin Chiara Appendino, the Memorandum of Understanding will support the vision of both entities towards becoming global leaders in the realm of green economy.
The agreement focusses on establishing strategic support between the two entities, with the aim of promoting trade and investment in green economy and sustainable products and services between Dubai and Turin.
It will increase the international visibility of Dubai GEP's activities and its founding members, Al Gergawi said. "The collaboration will play an important part in bringing together the two cities to share best practices. We look forward to the partnership and the ability to facilitate sustainable economic growth for both cities at an international and regional level."
"This agreement is a step in the right direction for us," Chiara Appendino, Mayor of Turin, commented.
"It will allow the city of Turin to increase the opportunities connected to green economy, given the UAE is a key player in the global green economy context," she added.
