ASTANA, 30th May, 2016 (WAM) — Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdykalikova Gulshara, today received Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) and her accompanying delegation, here at the Presidential Palace.

The UAE delegation is currently in an official visit to Kazakhstan for several days. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC, Jamal Al Hai, Member Federal National Council, and Hamad Rashid Al Habsi, Acting Charge d’ Affairs of the UAE Embassy in Kazakhstan attended the meeting.

Akylbek Kamaldinov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakh Ambassador to UAE Kairat Lama Sharif were also present.

During the meeting, they discussed the existing cooperation between the UAE and Kazakhstan in all areas as well as ways to prevent spread of nuclear weapons, efforts to achieve peace and security in the region and the world, and dissociating Islam from terrorism, non-interference in the internal affairs of states and respect for good neighbourliness and international legitimacy.

They also reviewed the importance of the international conference entitled ”Religions against Terrorism, which will be hosted by Kazakhstan tomorrow. The conference will discuss the efforts exerted to fight terrorism and extremism.

Dr. Al Qubaisi is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the conference which will shed light on the UAE vision, approaches and plans in the fight against terrorism and confronting deviant thought, its strategies in foreseeing future and promoting comprehensive development process and the efforts of the UAE in spreading the values of tolerance and the fighting extremism as well as to highlight the cultural values and coexistence.

During the meeting, Al Qubaisi conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates to President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

She also confirmed that the UAE-Kazakh relations are strong and developing through trade initiatives, economic and investment cooperation, stressing the importance of promoting them through the wide range of fields in the light of the natural and industrial capabilities and potentials of the two countries as well as their attractive investment environments and geographical location among the continents of the world.

Dr. Al Qubaisi extended an official invitation to Gulshara to visit the UAE.

Dr. Al Qubaisi expressed her thanks on inviting the UAE, represented by FNC, to attend the “Religions against Terrorism” conference. She also confirmed that the participation in the event represents a religious and moral duty to fight terrorism and extremism as well as the importance of involving Kazakhstan in the UAE efforts in this regard.

Dr. Al Qubaisi tackled the issue of three UAE Islands of Tunb Greater, Tunb Lesser and Abu Mousa, occupied by Iran and the importance to heed the UAE calls for a peaceful solution to this issue.

She added that the policy of the UAE, since its establishment, is the commitment to international resolutions and peaceful solution to disputes, and work to root out terrorism.

The UAE official also pointed out that there are neighbouring countries that fuel sectarian strife by backing al-Houthi rebels and the ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Yemen. She also emphasised that the UAE believes in a peaceful solution and development efforts through initiatives that focus on main as health, education, energy and infrastructure.

Regarding the Syrian issue, she said the UAE established a camp for refugees in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates was the first country that established camps for refugees in Greece.
