CAIRO, 27th April, 2016 (WAM) — King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, have held talks during which their historical fraternal relations and the latest regional and international developments were reviewed.

The King of Bahrain thanked the Egyptian President for his kind invitation to visit Egypt to hold talks on reinforcing Bahraini-Egyptian relations and to discuss the developments witnessed in the Arab region. The King also expressed appreciation of the warm welcome and hospitality afforded to him and his delegation in Egypt..

The two sides reviewed ways to promote the deep rooted bilateral relations in political, economic, commercial, military, defence, education, cultural and tourism areas in the interest of the two countries and their people.

King Hamad reiterated Bahrain’s supportive stances toward Egypt and its people. He described Egypt as “the cornerstone of stability and security for the Arab nation for its strategic weight in the region”, noting its pivotal role at both regional and international levels.
