CAIRO, 14th July, 2016 (WAM) — Kuwait’s Permanent Delegate to the Arab League, Ahmad Al-Bakr, has reaffirmed the country’s support for joint Arab action.

Al-Bakr met yesterday with the League’s Secretary-General, Ahmad Abul-Gheit, and congratulated him on assuming the post, on behalf of the Kuwaiti leadership, His Highness Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, the Deputy Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

According to Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, during the meeting, the envoy reiterated Kuwait’s backing for Abul-Gheit on his mission leading the Arab League amid the critical conditions the Arab region is experiencing.

They also discussed a host of issues, topped with the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming Arab Summit due in Mauritania’s capital, Nouakchott, on July 25th and 26th.

The meeting addressed the issue of developing the League and improving its performance, as Al-Bakr stressed Kuwait’s support for the Secretary-General’s efforts in that respect.
