KUWAIT, 30th October, 2016 (WAM) — Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior on Saturday refuted local reports concerning unusual Iraqi military moves near the Kuwait-Iraq border.

Commenting on the reports, the Ministry’s Under-Secretary, Major-General Abdullah Al-Muhanna, was quoted by the ministry’s security information department as saying in a statement that there are no Iraqi military moves, mobilisation or deployment on the border.

The general stressed that Kuwaiti border security personnel are properly carrying out their duties and are well aware of their responsibilities. He urged everyone in the country to observe public interest and national security above all other considerations.
