Legal framework imperative to extend right of vote to Overseas Pakistanis: Irfan Siddiqui (Daily Balochistan Express (Pakistan))

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Affairs, Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday said devising legal and constitutional framework for extending right of vote to overseas Pakistanis is an important part of Electoral Reforms Parliamentary Committee’ agenda.
The suggestions of Overseas Pakistanis would be welcomed in this regard, he said in a meeting with a representative of Overseas Pakistanis delegation from gulf countries led by President Muslim League (N) Gulf, Chaudhry Noor ul Hassan Tanveer.
Irfan Siddiqui said Pakistanis serving in gulf countries send a big share of foreign exchange to the country. They are also earning good name for the country in gulf countries, said a news release issued here.
He said the government is focussing on resolving issues of Overseas Pakistanis and also taking steps for improving contacts between different Pakistani embassies in other countries and people.
On the occasion, Chaudhry Noor ul Hassan Tanveer said the government must pay attention to the education of the Overseas Pakistanis.
The delegation included members from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE.
