DUBAI, -- Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, stressed that the Arab Media Forum, launched on Monday, was being held at an important time in light of the current challenges faced by the Arab world at all levels, reflecting the importance of its slogan for the 16th session "Civil Dialogue."
In her remarks to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the forum, Sheikha Lubna said that contemporary media in the Arab world was facing a number of challenges, but these could be overcome only by constructive and fruitful dialogue, describing the role of the media as important and strategic in this regard.
She also noted that the future of the media involved changes related to technology.
She emphasised that it was necessary to investigate the truth and show transparency. "The Arab media has a great responsibility in this regard," she added.
She remarked that it was important for members of the society to understand facts by verifying the validity of the news they receive.
