AL AIN, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has highlighted the fundamental role local agricultural firms and farms play in advancing the UAE’s food diversity drive through boosting domestic agricultural production.
The minister’s remarks followed a tour of Emirates Bio Farm, EBF, in Al Ain, the largest private organic farm in the UAE, where he was briefed on the farm’s operations and the training programmes it offers to undergraduates. He explored areas of cooperation with the farm management to promote organic farming methods and transfer EBF’s successful model to other farms.
The tour aligned with Dr. Al Zeyoudi’s commitment to supporting private ventures and helping businesses reach their full potential by eliminating obstacles they may face, enabling them to grow further.
Spanning an area of 250 square kilometres and growing 55 types of organic produce, Emirates Bio Farms offers consumers convenient home delivery of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, and eggs through its website and app.
