MoFAIC honours citizen on finding lost Emirati child in Maastricht, The Netherlands

ABU DHABI, 30th August, 2016 (WAM) – Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), has honoured in his office at the ministry, Emirati Mohammed Ali Al Manaei, for finding an Emirati child, Mariam Al Falasi, who was lost in Maastricht city in The Netherlands, earlier in August.

Al Raisi presented an appreciation certificate and memento shield to Al Manaei in recognition to his efforts in finding the child. Al Manaei had broadcast an appeal on various social networking sites. He had also contacted the UAE embassy in The Netherlands, which in turn took the necessary measures to locate the parents of the child.

Among others present were Ahmed Elham Al Dhahiri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the ministry, and Rashid Ali Al Dhahiri, Director of the Citizens Affairs at MoFAIC.

Al Raisi commended Al Manaei for his good behaviour, urging him to continue this positive spirit that reflects responsible citizenship, consolidates humanitarian sense and depicts moral values that characterise the people of the UAE.

The MoFAIC official also thanked the UAE Embassy for its immediate and rapid response to Al Manaei’s appeal, and the necessary measures it took to identify the Emirati child and reunite her with her family in a record time.

Al Manaei thanked Al Raisi for honouring him, and stressed that this gesture is a source of pride and an incentive for continuing to serve the people of the UAE.
