ABU DHABI, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, discussed on Tuesday ways to strengthen fraternal ties between the two countries, as well as a number of regional and international issues.
This came during a meeting in Abu Dhabi between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and the visiting King of Bahrain.
They both confirmed the importance of consultation and coordination within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States, GCC, in a manner that reinforces a joint work to achieve welfare of citizens of the member states, and address the current challenges in light of common history, purpose and destiny.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the depth of fraternal historical ties between the two countries, while stating that the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, always looks forward to strengthening its relations with Bahrain in a way that ensures interests of the two countries and peoples.
The King of Bahrain also emphasised the close relations between the Kingdom and the UAE, and their joint efforts to further develop them.
He praised the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their role in supporting the GCC to defend its interests and back the Arab issues in service of the security and stability of the region.
Both sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments. They also exchanged views on a number of topics and common interest.
The meeting was also attended by Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Court, and members of the delegation accompanying the King of Bahrain.
