ABU DHABI, 30th January 2017 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces , received this evening at his Majlis in Qasr Al Bahr, a delegation from the Board of Directors of the WorldSkills, who were accompanied by Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Simon Bartley, President of WorldSkills, and the board members, who briefed him on the outcome of the preparatory week, held here ahead of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, which will take place in October.

Sheikh Mohamed wished the team of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 success in organising such a global scientific gathering that aims at improving the student’s scientific, vocational and cultural skills.

He added that such events play a vital role in promoting the spirit of innovation and technical knowledge among the youth and in facilitating interaction among the different cultures.

WorldSkills 2017, the world’s largest vocational skills competition, will be held from 14–19 October in Abu Dhabi and will be attended by 1,300 delegates and contestants from over 60 countries.
