Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to Vatican is historic event, says Nahyan bin Mubarak

ABU DHABI,- The visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Vatican and his meeting with Holiness Pope Francis, head of the Roman Catholic Church, is a historic event, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, emphasised.

The visit embodies Sheikh Mohamed's sincere pursuance and strong commitment to achieving peace, co-existence and stability around the world, he added.

"I felt proud of being an Emirati while witnessing the visit of Sheikh Mohamed to the Vatican. I shared with all Emiratis the happiness about the visit as it embodied the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's role, not only in achieving the successful and overall renaissance in the country, but also his sincere pursuance and strong commitment to accomplish peaceful co-existence and stability across the world," Sheikh Nahyan said.

Sheikh Nahyan added, "The visit is historic since it confirmed Sheikh Mohamed's strong belief in the importance of enhancing principles of dialogue and co-existence among people of other religions and cultures around the world, and that dialogue and communication among individuals, groups and nations of various religions, cultures and civilisations would lead to a better, peaceful, prosperous and stable world for the benefit of everyone."

The visit is historic as His Holiness Pope Francis shares the same point of view as the UAE on the importance of working together to ensure that the whole world will embrace the principles of justice, tolerance, understanding and peace, he reaffirmed.

He also emphasised the importance of the visit as it confirmed the vision of the two sides which stresses that religions are a positive impetus in the lives of human beings, and contribute to addressing economic and social issues globally, and boost mutual understanding and co-existence between nations and peoples.
