National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC)’s Regional Office, Sindh, held a One Day workshop for 30 TVET accreditation experts from Sindh and Balochistan in Karachi. The workshop was held under the directives of Executive Director NAVTTC Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar who stressed the need for acceleration of accreditation process of maximum TVET institutes from the public and private sector all over the country so that quality skilled manpower can be ensured in the domestic and overseas labour markets. Director General (A&C) NAVTTC Headquarters informed the participants that their role is crucial for accreditation process. She informed the house that Kuwait under Doha Declaration has started accepting candidates from only accredited TVET Institutions in Pakistan.
She also briefed the forum about benefits of accreditation of Technical & Vocational Education and Train ng (TVET) institutes with NAVTTC. It is still offered free of cost to encourage maximum number of TVET institutions to apply for accreditation and get involved in continuous quality improvement. She informed the forum that NAVTTC is UNEVOC Center in Pakistan and Member of Asia Pacific Accreditation & Certification Council and is sharing the list of accredited TVET programmes with UAE countries and Kuwait. NAVTTC Accreditation is bringing National and International recognition to TVET Sector in Pakistan. International Accreditation Expert Volker Huseberg (serving NAVTTC under TVET Reform Support Programme) started the workshop which was arranged to provide orientation to accreditation experts on accreditation procedures.
He informed the participants about their role as experts and assessors briefed them on whole process and procedures.
