SHARJAH, The Collage Talent Centre at the Sharjah Ladies Club, SLC, is calling on all female artists and photographers in the UAE to prepare their canvases and dark rooms for the second edition of the Noon Arts Award, which will commemorate the Year of Zayed and reflect the values, qualities and emotions of the UAE's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, under the slogan, "My World of Emotions."
The award is an opportunity for the nation's most creative talents, who are aged between 18 and 40, to express their interpretations and experiences, through their mental, physiological and physical emotions. The award's registration process will begin on 15th July and will be open to all female UAE nationals and residents.
Shaikha Al Suwaidi, Manager of the Collage Talent Centre, said, "Building on the enormous popularity and success of last year's Noon Arts Award, we are confident that the quantity and quality of this year's submissions will be equally high. The outstanding artistic abilities of all members of the community are exceptional, and this year's concept of expressing emotions and conveying the principles and morals shown by Sheikh Zayed throughout his life, as well as his impact on the birth of a nation, is also a highly inspirational theme."
"As well as discovering gifted new artists and photographers, the award encourages women across the UAE to explore their own talents and use their gifts as a means of self-expression and independence," Al Suwaidi added.
The winners of the award's painting and photography category for those aged between 25 and 40 will each receive AED10,000, and the Noon Rising Star Awards for 18- to 24-year-olds will be presented with AED5,000 each. The winning artworks and photographs, which will be selected by an independent SLC jury, will be displayed from 20th to 24th November, 2018, at Kunooz Events and Catering.
