JEDDAH, 18th February, 2016 (WAM) — The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the terrorist bombing that hit the Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday, causing the death of 28 people and the injury of 61 others.

The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, described the bombing as a shocking and atrocious act that defies all human values. Madani conveyed sincere condolences and sympathy to the Turkish government and people and to the victims of this tragic event, wishing the wounded speedy recovery.

The Secretary General also stressed the need to prosecute and punish the perpetrators of this attack and the groups behind them, expressing total solidarity with the Government of Turkey in defending its national security and preserving its territorial integrity and stability.
