Pakistan sentences terrorist to 14 years in prison over attack on Saudi Consulate

KARACHI, 31st December, 2015 (WAM) -- A Pakistani court has sentenced a man to 14 years in prison for carrying out a bomb attack on the Saudi Consulate in Karachi in May 2011.

Zaki Kazmi, who is part of the extremist group Mehdi Force, was found guilty of hurling two hand grenades at the building with another accomplice, Tabsh Hussein, before escaping on a motorcycle.

Pakistani police managed to arrest the perpetrator on November 2011 during an arrest operation, when Hussein was killed as a result of an exchange of gunfire with police.
