AMMAN -- Faisal Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, has praised the depth of UAE-Jordanian relations, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late King Hussein bin Talal, who had worked to consolidate exceptional relations between both countries.
He added that the relations between the two countries have been growing steadily, citing the ongoing co-ordination and consultation between President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and King Abdullah II of Jordan, that contribute to strengthening the historical relations.
He made this statement after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Al Maktoum Foundation concerning the establishment of the UAE- Jordanian Assistance Committee at the headquarters of the Jordanian Senate on Wednesday, to support the Armed Forces Martyrs Fund and the security authorities, as well as conduct charity and humanitarian projects in Jordan.
The MoU was signed by Faisal Al Fayez and Mirza Al Sayegh, Head of the Office of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees.
Al Sayegh praised the initiative launched by Faisal Al Fayez and stressed that the foundation's response to this call is due to the strong relations between the UAE and Jordan and the desire to strengthen them.
He referred to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and the Foundation's Patron, to support this initiative.
Al Sayegh also noted the UAE-Jordanian Assistance Committee will hold a meeting with participation of Jordanian businessmen and the foundation, to review several projects.
