DUBAI, 6th October 2016 (WAM) – HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, Wife of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today met with the First Lady of Niger Aissata Issoufou and held discussions with her on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
Member of the Board of Trustees and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al Jalila Foundation Dr. Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, and Board Member and Acting CEO of Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children Dr. Mona Al Bahar were also present during the meeting.
Princess Haya and Issoufou discussed a range of issues centred around healthcare, education and humanitarian activities as well as potential areas of cooperation between humanitarian institutions in Niger, and the Al Jalila Foundation and Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital. One of the key focuses of the discussions was how the Al Jalila Foundation could support the First Lady of Niger’s humanitarian NGO.
Princess Haya also spoke to Issoufou about how Dubai’s International Humanitarian City has become a global logistics hub for relief and humanitarian assistance across the world. She also explained how Dubai Healthcare City is driving the development of the healthcare industry in the region and is supporting Dubai’s growing status as a medical tourism hub for the Middle East.
