ADDIS ABABA, 31st January, 2017 (WAM) — Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Head of the UAE delegation to the African Summit, met with Sam Kutesa, Ugandan Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Al Hashemi and the Ugandan minister discussed political and economic relations between the UAE and Uganda, and ways to boost them, including exchange of visits and expertise, and signing of pending agreements.

she said the UAE is keen to promote co-operation with Uganda, particularly in the economic and investment areas, she stressed.

The Ugandan minister praised the strong relations between the UAE and Uganda, pointing to his country’s desire to enlarge the scope of bilateral co-operation in various fields.

The two sides discussed their countries stance on various international, regional and political issues of mutual interest, including the developments in the Horn of Africa.

The meeting was attended by Yakoub Yousef Al Hosani, Assistant Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Ghazi Abdullah Bin Ashour Mehri, the UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
