JEDDAH, 7th August, 2016 (WAM) — A security spokesman from the Saudi Interior Ministry has announced that a border guard soldier has been killed in an exchange of gunfire with attackers from inside the Yemeni territories on the southern border.

The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, quoted the spokesman as saying that at 10:50 local time on Saturday morning, a border guard patrol at Jalah in the Jazan Region was subject to hostile fire across the border from Yemeni territories. Immediately, the patrol was given the necessary support by land forces resulting in complete control of the situation.

The exchange of gunfire resulted in the martyrdom of Mohammed bin Hussein bin Yahya Hanani, the report said.
