SHARJAH, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, SEWA, launched the SEWA Academy for training as part of its strategy to build its employees' capacities.
The academy will play an important role to help the authority become one of the best in the world.
Dr. Eng. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWAA, said the institution was pursuing a clear strategy and a detailed plan of action in line with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to make available the best training courses for the employees.
He also added that the authority will co-operate with several institutions, companies and research centres to train its employees.
The Academy will play a crucial role in providing leadership as well as administrative and technical training to the authority's employees, that will enhance their performance levels, he said.
Bodour Al Nakhy, the head of the authority's training department, said training courses, customised as per international specifications, will be offered in various fields. She stated that each of the two halls can accommodate 40 participants, apart from a reception hall and three offices. The target is to train more than 600 employees annually.
