SHARJAH, The Sharjah Girl Guides, SGG, participated in the celebration of the 47th UAE National Day, through two days of interactive activities.

The activities, which aim to enhance the loyalty and belonging to the nation of the SGG's members, as well as to motivate them to take part in the UAE's development, took place at the General Directorate of Finance and Support Services of the Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Medical Services, the Heart of Sharjah, and at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Girl Guides tied knots and patched them together to create the UAE flag, to exemplify the will, determination, and the strong relations among the seven emirates, which share their love for the country. The knots also symbolise the scouts and guides movements around the world.

The SGG's members also participated in an interactive workshop to teach children to use their imagination and creativity to colour the UAE flag, which represents the nation's identity, as well as to express their love for their country and its wise leadership.

The event, which included the screening of a video featuring the Girl Guides' salute to the UAE flag, aims to highlight the SGG's vision to instil in its members a positive attitude and moral values, and motivate them to serve their country by giving back to the community.
