SHARJAH, 19th March, 2017 (WAM) -- Sharjah Healthcare City Free Zone, SHCC, and Ahalia Hospital have signed an agreement which will allow the latter to set up operations in the free zone. Abdulla Ali Al Mahyan, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority and SHCC, and Dr. V.S. Gopal, Managing Director of Ahalia Group of Hospitals signed the agreement.
Speaking on the signing, Al Mahyan said, "Our vision is a healthier nation, one where every resident has access to immediate and convenient healthcare solutions. We endeavour to host the world s most trusted healthcare companies to help meet the arduous demands of this vision, and also to augment the emirate s reputation as a destination for medical tourism. We believe that our humanitarian ideals will see us through the long road ahead and convene the necessary associations to make our vision a reality."
Dr. Gopal said, "We are proud to be part of the UAE s burgeoning healthcare sector, and we owe our success to our relentless pursuit of medical excellence. Our entry into Sharjah Healthcare City, with a 100 bed general hospital as its first phase, marks the beginning of a new chapter in our legacy, one that will take gigantic strides in healthcare delivery standards and the overall wellbeing of the residents of Sharjah."
Sharjah Healthcare City was formed in March 2012 under the directives and vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and operates as a free zone.
