ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the "Mother of the UAE," has launched the "UAE Inculcation" initiative," during a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Education at the Fatima bint Mubarak School in Abu Dhabi.
The initiative, a modern educational project supervised by the Ministry of Education and supported and sponsored by the "Mother of the UAE", aims to promote progress and provide a productive and sustainable school environment and maintain a smart environment. The project is also part of the Year of Giving initiative, and it embodies the modern concept of moral education, with the aim of forming bonds of friendship between students.
The initiative targets public schools with sufficient space and will include areas dedicated to water culture, marine environment, gardening and indigenous UAE plants.
The initiative is expected to help establish the concept of moral education among students by creating gardens in their schools. It is also an effective tool in supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Education to establish noble values in students, and part of its goal is to create a curriculum that will effectively introduce academic concepts in their behaviour, performance and future direction while teaching the values of responsibility, work, production and giving.
Sheikha Fatima attended the ceremony. Present were Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Jameela Al Muheiri, Minister of State for Public Education, Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, and other female and academic leaders.
In her speech, which was given on her behalf by Dr. Al Shamsi, Sheikha Fatima said, "It is a happy occasion being here today at the Fatima bint Mubarak School, and meeting you and my children, the students, who are sharing these moments with us while reflecting the closeness between the nation's children, who are working together to develop and preserve it. And here we are today, at the launch of the UAE Planting Initiative, which is the result of joint and constructive work to provide the appropriate atmosphere to prepare the UAE's children. This initiative reflects our wise leadership's support for the growth of the most important area of life, agriculture, which the world relies on to provide food security and protect the environment."
"The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the country, gave agriculture all his support and attention, as it is the source of food and the driver of the economy. It also represents overall environmental sustainability," she added.
Sheikha Fatima presented her utmost appreciation to the wise leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members the Rulers of the UAE, for their support and sponsorship for education, and raising its levels to the highest standards, and keeping pace with the latest international scientific developments. She also thanked Hussain Al Hammadi and Jameela Al Muheiri, as well as the school directors and teachers who are responsible for teaching the UAE's children science, creativity and innovation.
