ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the "Mother of the UAE," today received, in Qasr Al Bahr, a delegation of female leader from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, Group, as well as other female leaders from the international oil, gas and energy sector.
The reception was attended by H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region; H.H. Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; H.H. Sheikha Maryam bint Mohamed bin Zayed, the wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikha Shamma bint Mohamed bin Zayed, the wife of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikha Sheikha bint Suroor, the wife of Pilot Staff-Brigadier Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE National Service and Reserve Authority; Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy; Sheikha Salama bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikha Latifa bint Tahnoun, the wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, as well as other female officials.
The delegation included Eng. Hala Adel Zawati, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan; Vicki Hollub, President and CEO of Occidental Petroleum; Lynn Laverty, Member of the Board of Directors of Aramco; Mai Al Eisa, Deputy CEO of the Oman Duqm Refinery; Nadia Badr Al Haji, Deputy Executive Director of the Integrated Petroleum Industries Company of Kuwait; Melissa Schoeb, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Occidental Petroleum, and Sarah, Member of the Board of Directors of the Petrofac Company of Kuwait.
During the meeting, the members of the delegation praised the support of the UAE's leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for women, as well as the leading role of Sheikha Fatima in empowering Emirati women, who now have a prestigious stature within the community and vital sectors, especially the energy sector.
Sheikha Fatima welcomed the delegation and praised its efforts to advance their sector and achieve goals while wishing them further success. She also listened to a presentation about the roles of the delegation's members.
