ABU DHABI, -- Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has advised people to read "Reflections on Happiness and Positivity" by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and another book called "The World Without Us", as well as books and reports that discuss climate change and its effects.

The statement was made as part of his participation in the initiative by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, for the Reading Month, and its publishing of titles of the most important books as recommended by Their Excellencies the Ministers and High Officials of the country, to form a basis for readers to confidently start a habit of reading.

He said that "Reflections on Happiness and Positivity" is considered a unique and important addition to the Arabic library, as, through this book, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum offers an administrative and developmental vision based on optimism and positivity, and a pioneering, inspirational and enriching experience.

"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid wrote this book, as he does with all his books, in a unique and wonderful style that is simple and convincing, to make the repeated reading of the book a very enjoyable experience," he added.

He clarified that the book "The World Without Us" discusses the possible factors that affect the natural environment and artificial environments when humans become extinct.

He also clarified that "The World Without Us" can be categorised as scientific and environmental journalism, along with other environmental books that discuss the effects of humans on the Earth in a subjective and creative work.

He advised people to read books and reports that talk about the environment in general, and specifically climate change and its effects.

Regarding the ministry's initiatives to support the Reading Month, he stressed its commitment to encourage reading through its diverse group of successful initiatives, which it conducted during the Year of Reading.

"We will also launch the "We Read to Rise" initiative, which targets the introduction of available E-Books that employees can read or download through the Internet during the Reading Month, as well as the "Electronic Book" initiative where E-Books will be made available from the ministry's website," he added.
