ABU DHABI -- The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority ,TRA, has announced that Abdulrahman Al Marzouki, Manager of Internet Advancement, has been chosen by the International Organisation for Standardisation, ISO, as one of its editors for ISO 27031.

ISO 27031 is the international specification which standardises the readiness of information and communications technology, ICT, to ensure business continuity in relation to information security.

This is the first time an Emirati has been chosen as the main editor for an international specification in the organisation. The major role of a specification editor is to formulate and amend the international specification after gathering notes and recommendations from all parties concerned with the specification and agree on them before being officially approved by ISO, a process which typically takes between one to three years or more.

Commenting on the importance of spreading the news about this achievement as a positive role model, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General, TRA, said, "We in the TRA deeply understand the importance of continuously developing employees' skills and capabilities which enable them to be creative in their work environment. This practice is part of the TRA's commitment to empower Emirati youths. We acknowledge every individual's proactive spirit and thoughtful intention to add value and pursue excellence in the work environment. A distinctive employee is the best ambassador for his or her organisation, so we continue to encourage more positive models in the TRA and we are always prepared to provide for their requirements and needs as employees."
