TUNISIA, 22nd March, 2016 (WAM) — Tunisian authorities has announced the arrest of members of a ‘takfiri’ cell operating in the capital targeting the youth into joining terrorists groups.

The official state news agency reported that the Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the national anti-terrorism crime unit uncovered a “serious takfiri cell” comprising 12 people actively working to recruit young people to join the terrorist organisation Daesh, adding that detainees had been referred to the relevant authorities.

The statement added that the group were also involved in helping another takfiri cell which was recently intercepted and eliminated in the border town of Ben Guerdane as its members were trying to sneak into Libya.
