PARIS, 18th November 2015 (WAM) — Two Air France flights headed from the United States to Paris were diverted overnight due to received bomb threats, officials are saying.

Both flights landed safely, CNN has reported, and no U.S. military aircraft were scrambled in either of the reported incidents, NORAD spokesman, Preston Schlachter, said.

One flight, headed from Los Angeles to Paris, was diverted to Salt Lake City in Utah after a bomb threat was called in from the ground, a U.S. government official said.

A little later, Air France flight 55 from Washington’s Dulles International Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris was diverted to an airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia, also as a result of a bomb threat, a government source said.

“Several law enforcement agencies are working to determine the nature of the threats which caused the aircraft to divert,” FBI Special Agent, Todd Palmer of the Salt Lake City division, said.
