RIYADH, Two terrorists planning attacks against Saudi Arabia blew themselves up following a confrontation with security forces in the city of Jeddah on Saturday, the interior ministry said.

Saudi security forces raided a rest house in Jeddah's eastern al-Harazat district where they exchanged heavy gunfire with the men, who blew themselves up using explosives belts.

The rest house was turned into a bomb-making factory, an interior ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by state news agency SPA.

Security forces also stormed an apartment in al-Naseem neighborhood and arrested a Saudi man and a Pakistani woman who have links to the men, the spokesman said.
