National telecommunications company, Globacom, has charged the Golden Eaglets to beat the Amajimbos of South Africa in their semi final tie in the ongoing FIFA U-17 African Youth Championship in Niger Republic.
Globacom enjoined the Emmanuel Amuneke-led coaching crew to continually evolve the right strategy and motivate the team to ensure that they defeat South Africa, and qualify for the finals.
The Eaglets will play against South Africa in the first semi final on Wednesday, while Mali will lock horns with Guinea in the second encounter.
Golden Eaglets line up
The Eaglets are the defending champions of the U-17 World Cup. The team emerged victorious in 2013 after defeating Mexico in the finals by three goals to nil in UAE.
“We wish the Eaglets the very best in the match against South Africa,” Glo said in a statement early today.
Meanwhile, the sponsor of the Nigerian national teams also commended the Eaglets for playing cohesive and purposeful football which resulted in the convincing victory over the Zambians and also ensured their qualification for the next World Cup in Chile.
“We are delighted with the great fighting spirit the team demonstrated so far in the tournament and we believe that this will help the team to progress to the finals and eventually achieve the ultimate goal of lifting the trophy,” Glo said.
