ABU DHABI, 20th February 2016 (WAM) — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Amman, the U.S. State Department said.

Secretary Kerry will also meet with various officials about ongoing security issues in the region, to include the fight against ISIL (Daesh), the war in Syria; and continued tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, the State Department said on its official site.

Kerry’s trip included a brief stop today in London where he met with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.

The two ministers discussed the ongoing conflict in Syria and the progress being made in Geneva by UN task forces – one to develop the modalities of a cessation of hostilities and the other to ensure the sustained and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance to besieged areas.
