MEXICO CITY, -- Ahmed Hatem Al Menhali, UAE Ambassador to Mexico, has met with Miguel Ruiz Cabanas, Under-Secretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations.

They reviewed the three priorities for the Conference on Terrorism and Culture, announced in a speech to UNESCO in November 2015, which is being held in Abu Dhabi in December, which are the fight against antiquities trafficking, reception of endangered cultural properties as "refugees" by other states, and the preservation of the memory of destroyed sites.

The UAE Ambassador highlighted the importance of the conference to highlight the efforts of the UAE and its aspirations to preserve the humanitarian heritage, and emphasised the keenness of the state on Mexico's participation.

Mr. Cabanas said that he welcomed the initiative, confirming his country's participation in the conference, giving special attention to the protection of endangered heritage.
