OSLO -- Mohammed Ibrahim Al Juwayed, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway, on Tuesday attended the opening ceremony of Nor-Shipping 2017, which will continue until 2nd June, in Oslo, Norway.
Thousands of shipping and offshore workers, along with maritime officials from over 80 countries are in Oslo this week to participate in the event.
Crown Prince Haakon of Norway opened the conference in the presence of numerous heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Norway, and a large number of officials and representatives of pioneering maritime industries.
While visiting the exhibition, Al Juwayed said that the UAE plays a key role in the global maritime sector. "The country is a leading maritime hub, which is deemed the first in the Arab region and has a significant impact on the international maritime industry."
He added that the UAE's participation in the event is an ideal opportunity to review all the advantages of the country's maritime sector and highlight the leading position achieved by Dubai, ranked fifth globally in terms of business competitiveness and attractiveness.
