ABU DHABI, 19th May, 2016 (WAM) – The General Command of the Armed Forces, represented by the Moral Guidance Directorate, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Geographic Abu Dhabi TV, on joint co-operation in production of a detailed documentary on the adventure of the UAE Armed Forces’ team while climbing Mount Everest.

Earlier, the team successfully climbed to the top of the highest mountain in the world at a height of 8,848 metres above sea level.

The documentary will cover the success story of the team of 16, including 13 military climbers of different ranks and divisions of the armed forces, and a specialist in sports medicine and high altitude physiology, and three professional mountain climbers.

Under the MoU signed by the two parties, the National Geographic Channel will allocate its interactive platforms and social networking such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and the special adventure location to cover the adventure on the link //www.natgeo-uaemtce.com // to allow viewers to follow the adventure.

The documentary will cover various stages experienced by the team since the beginning of the adventure and their arrival in the Republic of Nepal.

The Moral Guidance Directorate of the General Command of the Armed Forces had in the past co-operated with National Geographic Abu Dhabi in the production of several documentaries such as the participation of the UAE Armed Forces in the peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, and the documentary film about Emiratis in the national and reserve service.
