HONG KONG, -- Nabila Al Shamsi, the UAE Consul-General to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Vivian Sum, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong, discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance co-operation.

They also discussed trade and economic ties between the UAE and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in line with the strategy of the Hong Kong government. This will enhance Hong Kong's role in China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative with Asian and European countries along a new Silk Road as the UAE can act as an important gateway for Hong Kong and China to the Middle East and African markets.
