TOKYO, -- The UAE exported 21.012 million barrels of crude oil to Japan in February 2017, accounting for 21.2 per cent of Japan's total crude imports in the same month, according to data released by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

This compares to 22.466 million barrels of UAE crude oil exports to Japan in January 2017.

Saudi Arabia accounted for 40.431 million barrels, or 40.8 per cent of Japan's total imports in February, while Kuwait, Russia Qatar and Iran accounted for 8.2 per cent, 8.1 per cent, 7.5 per cent, and 6.5 per cent respectively, the ministry said in a statement citing data from its Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.
