ADDIS ABABA, 9th June, 2016 (WAM) — The UAE Embassy in Ethiopia has begun to implement the Iftar Project of the holy month of Ramadan 2016 by hosting an Iftar event for 450 fasting people at the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque in Addis Ababa.

This year’s programme includes distribution of food parcels and baskets to the underprivileged people through mosques, orphanages and educational centres.

The Iftar project is being carried out with the generous support of a number of Emirati charitable and humanitarian organisations, including the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, the Emirates Red Crescent, Dar Al Ber Association, the Sharjah Charity Association, and the Dubai Charity Association.

The project aims to spread the values of tolerance and social solidarity, thanks to the UAE leadership’s keenness to care for all the needy segments across the world.
