MANAMA, The UAE Embassy in Manama organised today, in collaboration with the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, a lecture entitled 'The Year of Zayed", as part of the celebrations of UAE' 47th National Day anniversary.

The lecture was delivered by Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, in attendance of Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister of Bahrain, senior officials, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, diplomats and media personalities.

In his lecture, Nusseibeh said the 'Year of Zayed' is not limited to celebrating100 years since the birth of the UAE Founding Father. It is also an opportunity to learn from his approach for governance.

"The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan left a great school of governance. Our leadership is following in his footsteps," he said.

Nusseibeh also spoke about the late Sheikh Zayed's vision for development and his political and social philosophy . He also highlighted the special place he held in his heart for Bahrain.

"The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan used to describe his relations with Bahrain as pivotal. He always spoke highly of 'noble and generous' Al Khalifa and the people of Bahrain," he added.

Nusseibah concluded his lecture by expressing special thanks to Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and to the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for the efforts to enrich cultural life in Bahrain and the Gulf.
