KHARTOUM,- The UAE Embassy in Khartoum has overseen the departure of a group of Sudanese Hajj pilgrims, sponsored by the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, for this year's Hajj season.

The majority of the pilgrims are widows, low-income earners or the elderly.

Ambassador of the UAE to Sudan, Hamad Mohammed Al Jenaibi, expressed his appreciation for the foundation's charitable initiatives based on an approach established by the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to help disadvantaged Muslims around the world to perform Hajj pilgrimage.

The beneficiaries expressed their happiness at being able to visit the Holy land and perform the mandatory religious duty.
