MADRID, 23rd June, 2016 (WAM) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy to the Kingdom of Spain continues to implement the Ramadan Iftar Project for Muslim families and mosques in different Spanish cities.

The project is sponsored by the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the Al Maktoum Charity Foundation.

According to official statistics, more than one million Muslims live in various parts of the kingdom, which also hosts 381 officially registered Islamic associations. These associations are in the regions of Catalonia, Madrid and Al-Andalus as well as in the Principality of Andorra with a large Muslim community of traders and businessmen.

The beneficiaries thanked the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the charity organisations for the humanitarian projects.
