KUWAIT, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of UAE Federal National Council (FNC) and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Speaker of Kuwait National Assembly, signed on Monday a cooperative agreement in parliamentary, legislative and legal fields, in addition to training, development, research and information systems.
Dr. Al Qubaisi is on a two-day official visit to Kuwait, her first to an Arab country, for talks on enhancing joint parliamentary cooperation.
The agreement was signed in Kuwait following talks between the two speakers which focused on ways of coordinating stances at Arab and international levels, particularly in the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly and related events to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh next April Al-Ghanim praised the fraternal UAE-Kuwait ties as ''exemplary'' and said the visit would contribute towards enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in all fields, notably parliamentary.
''The FNC enjoys a wide public relations network with hard-to-reach countries which we want to employ and invest in advancing Arab causes,'' he added.
Dr. Al Qubaisi thanked Kuwait for supporting emergency items proposed by the UAE in the IPU assemblies.
She termed bilateral ties as ''exceptional''.
