NEW YORK, -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Friday extended condolences to Paraguay's Minister of Foreign Relations Eladio Loizaga on the death of eight Paraguayan soldiers, who were killed in an attack last month.
During a meeting on the sidelines of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed sincere sympathies and condolences to the government and the people of Paraguay, and the families of the soldiers who had devoted their lives to serving their country and people.
He renewed the UAE's firm position on condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The soldiers were fired upon and killed by a rebel group known as the Paraguayan People's Army on 28th August while on a routine mission 500 kilometres north of the capital Asuncion.
