DUBAI, 9th June, 2016 (WAM) – Islamic Scholar Sheikh Mohammed Ali bin Al Sheikh Abdurrahman Sultan-al-Ulama, winner of the Islamic Personality award of the 20th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA), has paid tribute to the UAE’s prudent leadership for supporting science and scholars.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious title, annually granted by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award after approval from Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the founder and sponsor of the award.”
This award shows how much attention the UAE’s prudent leadership pays to scholars and scientists, and supports knowledge and science”, Sultan-al-Ulama said, adding, “This is actually something familiar to our leaders who have always shown love and respect to the religion and scholars.”
“I would like to take the opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, for this honour and for his relentless support to Islam and the Quran,” he added.
Sheikh Sultan-al-Ulama said the Dubai International Holy Quran Award has become a milestone competition worldwide, while indicating, “Quran memorisers are flocking annually to the Award from every nook and corner.”
“May Allah Almighty give Sheikh Mohammed a long and blessed life, reward him for his love and respect to scholars, and bestow a higher rank in paradise on him in life and the hereafter.”
Sheikh Sultan-al-Ulama also thanked Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of the Award Organising Committee, and members of the DIHQA organising committee for granting him the title.
