ABU DHABI, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Media Company, stated that the Aqdar World Summit is an important event, which focussed on moral education and highlighted the necessity of resisting and eliminating extremism, dispersion, terrorism, terrorist organisations and fake news, through moral education, science, knowledge and the media.
Dr. bin Tamim highlighted, in a statement to Emirates News Agency, WAM, the necessary presence of cultural media organisations that can keep pace with developments happening in the country, through establishing partnerships with relevant organisations and sharing and promoting their achievements. The media should also follow important activities, such as the Aqdar World Summit, from the first media coverage to interacting and building cultural and collective awareness among the community, by using modern technologies, whether traditional or digital, to reach their audience, he added.
There is no doubt that the media's connection with moral education must also be based on the highest levels of professionalism, sincerity and faith, he explained, while noting the awareness of the UAE community about the importance of the media's message against extremist ideologies, which aim to influence their thoughts.
He added that the UAE media is capable of diversifying its tools and uniting its goals, to build and preserve the country's achievements while becoming a reflection of the community.
Dr. bin Tamim affirmed that the UAE foresaw the challenges facing the region, and subsequently focussed on education and supporting the youth in schools, especially through teaching the subject of moral education, supporting ongoing developments, launching initiatives and adopting renewable, effective and beneficial ideas.
