ABU DHABI,Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and Filip Vujanovic, President of Montenegro, have discussed efforts to boost bilateral co-operation between the two countries.
The UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is keen to develop bilateral ties, based on friendship and co-operation, she said.
Vujanovic expressed his deepest condolences over the death of several citizens of the UAE in the terrorist attack in Kandahar, Afghanistan, while on a humanitarian and development mission there.
Terrorism will not deter the UAE from pursuing its humanitarian role and helping the needy across the world, Al Qubaisi asserted.
Montenegro sees the UAE as its strategic partner in several fields such as tourism, agriculture and investment, President Vujanovic affirmed, citing the exceptional economic relations between the two countries.
The UAE government seeks diversity and progress in all aspects, Al Qubaisi explained, while stressing that despite being an oil-rich country, it depends on oil only for 30 per cent of its revenues.
The UAE can play a significant role internationally in promoting a clean and renewable energy sector, being the future trend, the Montenegro President noted.
The two leaders also discussed their views on the conflicts in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Libya.
Vujanovic appreciated the development achieved by the UAE in all sectors, and the good reputation it has acquired in the international community, through its policies based on tolerance, and openness.
He also praised the UAE's methods and its values on which it has established ties with other countries.
