RIYADH, -- Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Security and Military Affairs, participated in the Foreign, Interior Under-Secretaries and Chiefs of Staff meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday and Thursday.

The meeting was held in the framework of implementing resolutions of the Supreme Council of GCC in Riyadh. The meeting was also aimed at enhancing joint co-operation and co-ordination, and strengthening integration among GCC countries in the political, security and defence domains.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the GCC, said the members discussed the latest political, security and military developments in the region.

They also reviewed areas of co-operation and ways of boosting ties to enhance joint GCC action, he added.
